Be sure to watch Jessi and Stephanie (my Instructor from MD) teaching the 12"+ extended retrieve, the Turn to SSIF, while heading to the ground. This week, Lesson 6, only do the retrieves at eye level for the newer students. Those Advanced Graduate Students, who have already put a working retrieve on another dog, will be able to judge IF the dog they are now training is ready to 'head to the ground.' You have 3 weeks of 'extended retrieves to Turn to SSIF while heading to the ground' while simultaneously during those 3 weeks teaching the "HOLD". So plenty of time to 'head to the ground'.
